Are you thinking of redecorating your home but having trouble deciding on a colour scheme? Perhaps you know what you want but your partner disagrees? Redecorating can prove a test to any relationship if two of you have very different ideas about what the colour, design and look should be.
One colour that always seems to divide the sexes is pink. Often associated with all things feminine and girly, pink is generally not the colour of choice for the more masculine home decorater. So what to do if you are a big fan of pink and your other half hates it, or vice versa? Well, there are ways you can incorporate pink into your home without the place looking like a life-size Barbie palace.
Rather than going all out with baby pink wallpaper, hot pink paintwork and candy pink furniture throughout every room of the house, why not try adding a splash of pink here and there?
A good tip is to find traditional beds from somewhere like http://bensonsforbeds.co.uk and simply paint the bed frames a pale pink, or do the same with your bedroom or bathroom’s skirting boards. A small amount of pink can look lovely if used sparingly. If this doesn’t appeal however, you could simply invest in a few pink accessories such as towels and wash cloths or oven gloves and dish towels.
Adding small amounts of pink in this way will be much more pleasing to the eye than having a house filled with pink from top to bottom, and should be much easier for a reluctant partner to accept.
Of course, if you’ve no one to please but yourself and want your house pinker than a girly night in at Barbie’s, you might as well go for it. You can always paint over it, after all!
